Welcome to Cook to be Healthy

This site is about food, good old fashioned food like your grandmother or your great-grandmother used to make. It as a stand against the industrialisation of food and the many forms of nutritionism (which has arisen to help us better deal with the problems of the Western diet) but is mindful of sound nutrition and healthy lifestyles. We firmly believe you can cook your way to better health. You can use the site in one of two ways: to cherry-pick recipes from Italy, the Mediterranean basin, and the Indian subcontinent or to dive in and explore with relish some of the lifestyle issues involved when cooking your way to better health. Either way we offer you 300 tried and tested authentic recipes which can be replicated without hassle, and the opportunity to compile your own Personal Library to enable you to manage a diet full of good food right for you, your family and your circumstances.

To start, why not register, sign up to the Free Plan and send yourself, or a friend, a recipe attached to an e-card? Registration enables you to view in full those recipes which are free of charge (not just the descriptions) and, we hope, give a taste of the rigor and range of recipes available. Registration also enables you to view the range of images which can be attached to an e-card. To provide a structure within which the recipes operate we offer articles, free of charges, on healthy eating (and associated medical issues, mindful of an “information cascade”), growing your own vegetables and definitive cooking methodologies. Referring to the cooking methodology prior to cooking a recipe should ensure success each time! Registration also enables you to examine our range of Subscription Plans (and how they operate) and find out about the benefits of the Members Only section, "the Gourmet Corner".
